As an approved gateway service provider, WorkPro has a direct connection to the Document Verification Service, which is operated by the Australian Government. Businesses or government agencies can use this connection to verify a person’s identity, with their express consent, against government-held records.
The Document Verification Service (DVS) is the only national capability offered by the Australian Government for businesses and government agencies to instantly and securely verify their customers’ identity, without compromising their privacy.
Government agencies and businesses can use the DVS to verify identity documents. This will involve checking certain biographic information on an identity document, like someone’s name, address, or date of birth.
Once a person provides express consent and their government-issued identity document, the DVS verifies the document against the government-held record.
Once an ID is uploaded, it is instantly and automatically validated against the Government database, shown as verified within WorkPro.
The verified document is also automatically stored within the candidate's identity vault and can be re-used for other checks as a verified document.
Details about the DVS and the ID documents that can be verified can be found here.
