Each Nationally Coordinated Criminal History check is unique which means the outcome can be different, even for the same applicant.

It may be the case that the purpose, workplace, industry, and State are different between checks. It also may mean that one check has No Disclosable Court Outcomes (NDCO), while another check may include Disclosable Court Outcomes (DCO) for the same applicant.

This is explained below:

An NDCO result does not necessarily mean the candidate has no criminal history. It means no police information was identified or could be disclosed for that particular check under the applicable disclosure requirements.

Police determine what information can be released based on the check’s category and purpose, together with relevant spent convictions legislation and information release policies. These requirements can differ between states and territories. Consequently, the same person can receive different results for checks submitted for different roles, purposes or work locations.

WorkPro communicates the result returned through the National Police Checking Service. The relevant police agencies determine which information can be disclosed.
