What are the new reporting APIs?
The new reporting APIs provide a programmatic way to access eligible WorkPro reports without logging into the WorkPro platform. They allow customers to integrate WorkPro reporting data with their own systems, dashboards and analytics tools.
________________________________________
When will the reporting APIs be available?
The reporting APIs will be available from Monday 3 August.
________________________________________
Who can use the reporting APIs?
Customers who wish to use the reporting APIs should email integrations@workpro.com.au to request API credentials.
Documentation and sandbox access are available to support development and testing.
________________________________________
Is there an additional cost?
No
________________________________________
Which reports are available?
An initial selection of eligible WorkPro reports is available through the APIs. We will continue to expand the available reports over time.
________________________________________
Can I access every report in my WorkPro account?
No. Customers can only access reports and site data they are already authorised to view. Existing report and site permissions continue to apply.
________________________________________
Has anything changed in the WorkPro reporting screens?
The reporting experience within the WorkPro platform remains the same. The only change is that reports generated through both the WorkPro platform and the reporting APIs are now limited to a maximum 12-month date range per request.
________________________________________
Why is there now a 12-month reporting limit?
The 12-month limit helps manage the amount of data processed in a single request, protecting platform responsiveness and maintaining a fast, reliable experience for all WorkPro customers.
________________________________________
What if I need more than 12 months of data?
Customers can retrieve longer reporting periods by submitting multiple requests across consecutive 12-month date ranges.
________________________________________
Is the reporting API secure?
Yes. The reporting APIs use WorkPro’s existing API authentication and authorisation framework. Customers can only access reports and site data they are already authorised to view.
________________________________________
Can I connect the reporting APIs to Power BI, Tableau or other BI tools?
Yes. The reporting APIs are designed to integrate WorkPro reporting data with customers’ internal systems, dashboards and analytics tools. Integration with specific platforms will depend on each customer’s implementation.
________________________________________
Where can developers find documentation?
Customers should email integrations@workpro.com.au to request API credentials. Documentation and sandbox access are available to support development and testing.
________________________________________
Is this replacing the existing reporting functionality?
No. The reporting APIs provide an additional way to access WorkPro reporting data. Aside from the new 12-month reporting limit, there are no changes to the existing reporting experience within the WorkPro platform.
________________________________________
Why are only some reports available?
The initial release includes a selection of eligible WorkPro reports. Additional reports will be made available over time as the capability continues to evolve.
