In accordance with Australian legislation, every employer needs to validate an individual's citizenship and only employ them if the person has legal rights to work in the country.

WorkPro offers an integrated citizenship and work rights function in their online platform via a secure link to the Department of Home Affairs Visa Entitlement Verification service (VEVO) and using WorkPro's Document Verification Service to validate Australian citizens.

The function provides organisations with a flexible option to collect and validate an individual's citizenship and confirm their rights to work in Australia.

The service includes confirming the identity of Australian citizens and storing proof of the verification, and validating non-Australian citizens, confirming their rights to work and any associated conditions.

Once an individual has provided their citizenship information, Australian identity documents can be validated and securely stored against the candidate's profile in the organisation's WorkPro Account.

For non-Australian citizens, a VEVO check can be processed as a single check or in bulk.

Once the check or checks have been submitted, an instant result will produce a work rights certificate and contain information that relates directly to their work rights, including any conditions and limitations.

Once the check is completed, the WorkPro program will continue to poll the VEVO database and provide auto-notifications in the WorkPro platform against the candidate's record and email a report every day of any changes to a candidate's working rights.

This allows employers to confidently rely on WorkPro to continue to provide automatic updates as a key workforce compliance component.

A new certificate will be produced if the visa changes, and this will be securely stored in the WorkPro database as a strong audit trail.
