In accordance with Australian legislation, every employer needs to validate an individual's citizenship and rights to work, and only employ them if the person has legal rights to work in Australia.

This obligation includes confirming the identity of Australian citizens and storing proof of the validation and confirming non-Australian citizens rights to work and any associated conditions using the Department of Home Affairs Visa Entitlement Verification service.

WorkPro offers an integrated citizenship and work rights function that enables employers to request, collect and instantly validate an individual's Australian citizenship and confirm their rights to work in Australia.

For Australian citizens, once an individual has provided evidence of their citizenship, the identity document is validated using WorkPro's Document Verification Service. Once verified, a date and time certificate is stored against the candidate record in the customer's WorkPro account for compliance audit purposes.

For non-Australian citizens, a VEVO check is instantly processed as a single check or as a bulk check.

Once the check/s are completed, a formal report is available, containing their name, any work rights conditions and limitations.

WorkPro will continue to automatically re-check VEVO and, should the conditions or limitations change, a new report will be produced and stored against the candidate's profile. Additionally, a report will be emailed to the customer with a summary of any changes, allowing customers to readily manage this important compliance element.

Every 90 days, the WorkPro platform will send a reminder to the customer, inviting them to add candidates to the next 90 day automatic poll or archive the candidate.

This allows employers to confidently rely on WorkPro to continue to provide automatic updates as a key workforce compliance component.

A new certificate will be produced if the candidate visa changes, and this will be securely stored in the WorkPro database to form a strong audit trail.
