For step-by-step support and guidance to complete a Police Check, please refer to our User Guide.
Quick Tips before you start your police check:
1. You are required to enter at least 7 years of address history, which can include overseas addresses.
2. If the 'Next' or 'Submit Check' button does not appear, that means that there is still further information required. Look for any boxes with red borders around them or any crosses that point to where this information needs to be entered.
3. Each file uploaded needs to be less than 5 megabytes in size and in either JPG, PNG or PDF format.
4. If you are replacing an identity document (for example, if it has been declined when you initially sent the application to us for approval), the new document will not display when you click VIEW unless you have proceeded to the next page and then navigated back to the Upload Identity Documents page to view the file again.
5. Your signature needs to be as accurate as possible. While we understand that it can be difficult to sign with a digital signature, it must still closely match the signature/s on your identity documents. For example, we cannot accept initials if your usual signature contains your full name.
6. If you are a non-Australian citizen, we require you to upload either your ImmiCard or complete a VEVO check using your overseas passport for the Commencement of Identity category.
7. Each document that you upload must be current/not expired. The only exception to this is the document that you use for the selfie photo on the Upload of Linkage of Identity page.
8. If any of the documents cannot be seen properly - for example, if the photos are blurry or if some of the necessary information is covered, your police check application will be declined and you will need to replace those photos.
9. If you are under 18 years of age, you will need to have your parent or guardian electronically sign the application.
